What is the maximum size of door in each model?

Without mechanical joint: 2100 x 2800 mm. high, single leaf
With mechanical joint: 3000 x 2800 mm. high, single leaf
Bi-parting: 3200 x 2800 mm. high.

What is the wall construction required for the door?
Reinforced in wall from solid timber / steel supported on 3 parts to the floor, to prevent that it sinks down.

What is the typical lead-time on an MF5?
6 weeks.

What adds to the lead-time?
X-Ray doors and fire rated doors.

What canopy and track options are available?
Canopy in stainless, RAL9010, RAL9006, more RAL-colours.

 

Is an SS track an option?
No.

What are the standard and readily available colours?
0,9 mm Perstorp and Formica plane colours. new cards will be send upon request.

What other colours are available?
0,9 mm special finishes and 6 mm HPl, colours limited and upon request.

Do non-standard colours add to lead-time or cost?
Yes, upon avialability of the matrial, ± 1 week.

Can the doors be fire-rated?
Yes

What level of fire rating is possible?
30 minutes.

 

To what standard has the door been tested?
Dutch norm NEN6069:2001 and EN1634-1: 2001.

Are they tested to EN1634?
See above.

What happens to the doors in a fire situation?
The door closes and seals off the opening, by means of its selfclosing system that is activated by a melt fuse.

 

What kind of fumes do the doors give off?
The door is smoke-tight, but what gasses the door produces is not known by me.

What is the surface spread of flame rate?

What kind of smoke do the doors emit when burned?

Does the door melt?
The aluminium rail will melt, but the door will stay in place by its labyrinth system.

Does the door have a safety edge?   If not, please explain why?

No, with the force that it can hit you, stay within CE-regulations,
Metaflex uses fotocell in the frame, single is standard, double leaf is optional

What is the insulation value of the door?
Officially it has no insulation value, as it is not an insulation door;
The R-value for a 60 mm panel is 2,5 m2 K/W

Anodized aluminium profile with rounded edges.
48 mm PU insulation with 2x 5,1 mm MDF backing with a 2x 0,9 mm HPL top layer.

What materials is the core made from?

Is it CFC and HCFC free?
The doorcore is HCFC free material

 

What materials is the surface made from?
See above.

 

What material is the seal made from?
Rubber gasket EPDM material.

What level of hermetical seal is achieved with the MF5?
The door is tested on both sides on airtightness and on both sides, no airleackage could be measure.

Has this been tested?
Yes, in the loboratoriies from the Peutz Institute.

When would you use a gas tight door rather than a hermetically sealing door?
Gastight is a special subject and the customer/architect should decided this.

Yes.

What thicknesses of lead is available?
1, 2 and 3 mm.

 

What level of X ray protection does this achieve?
2 mm lead is equal to maximum 200KV-X-Ray machine

Manually door is unlimited……
Automatic door is maximum 10 kgs for a door without a safety edge.
We do recommend to keep the closing speed low so we stay < 10 kgs.

Metaflex recommends one per year for a frequent used door.

Looking at Competition, what is the advantage of our door over the key competitors:

COMPETITOR A:
Markus; M5 hermetic door with a long history, known over the whole world
The use the Metaflex SDA-04 controller.
M5 is also tested on hermetic sealing, but not so tight as Metaflex MF5 Medicare.
Doorblade is not flush on both sides. Doorcore is 40 mm and edges 56 mm.

 

COMPETITOR B
Waldoor, copied the M5 door and uses an entrance automation from them selves. Claims it has an airleackage test, but nobody has ever seen it.

 

COMPETITOR C:
Tane: copy of the Markus M5 door, use Besam automations.

 

COMPETITOR D:
Kaba;  copied the M5 door and uses an entrance automation from them selves.

 

COMPETITOR E:
The local doorsupplier who says he can deliver a doorblade with a rubber gasket, so the construction company can safe a lot of money on the purchase.

Can the doors be interlocked with other MF5’s or other doors?
 With one other MF5 is no problem. 3 or more MF-5’s or other doors, must be interlocked via a switch box, which Metaflex can deliver upon request.

What warranty is offered with the MAK Chiller?
After delivery EX-Works Metaflex Holland:

* constructive parts, like rails, suspension, frame and doorblade: 12 months.

* all moving parts, like handles, rollers, and sealings: 12 months.

* all electric parts, like and complete automation, switches and photocells: 6 months.

Guarantee is excluded by:
Unprofessional use or abuse of the door in any way.

Poor or insufficient maintenance of the door.
